SUMMARY:Fall Chapter Meeting
DESCRIPTION:*UPDATE* We are now primarily seeking a Risk Manager and President Elect! \nAll are invited to join the Fall Chapter Meeting at Ijams Nature Center! We are hopeful to have programs for 2023 announced at this meeting. We’ll have the membership vote in the 2022-23 Board and bylaw change. So this is an important one to attend! \nWe are still seeking board and committee member volunteers! We would appreciate any and all help so please let us know how you might like to help the chapter continue its great work to impact the lives of children in our area. If someone in your family participated in a program in 2022\, please make a special effort to give back to our all-volunteer organization. Or if you have taken a break from CISV recently and are ready to get back into it\, we would love to have your knowledge and expertise! \nSome open positions include: Risk Manager\, President-Elect\, Community Shares Chair\, Insurance Chair and myCISV Coordinator\, Member at Large (Knoxville)\, and Member of Large (Oak Ridge). We will also have several committees where the chair will sit on the board (i.e.\, fundraising\, gala\, Community Shares\, hospitality\, etc). \n  \nGeneral Board Volunteer responsibilities: \n\nBoard members (including Committee Chairs) participate in a monthly board meeting\, typically held on the third Thursday of the month for about an hour\nCommittee chairs work with their committees and provide a report to the board prior to the meeting\nExpect an average of approximately 5-10 hours per month commitment for most positions\n\nBenefits of being a Board Member: \n\nGet to meet and work with new and interesting people.\nGet to further the CISV mission of Educating and Inspiring action for a more just and peaceful world.\nGet to surround yourself with people who share similar values to CISV: friendship\, inclusiveness\, enthusiasm\, engagement\, and cooperation.\nGet to engage and lead other families within CISV and help delegates further the CISV mission and values.\nGet to learn how the board of a non-profit corporation works.\nRead more in this article in Forbes magazine about advantages of being on a Non Profit Board\n\n
