*Smoky Mountain, one of the oldest CISV USA chapters, was founded in 1965 by Dr. Raymond Shrader, a former social psychology professor at the University of Tennessee.
*Prominent community members that have participated in CISV programs with the Smoky Mountain Chapter include: Randy Boyd, President and CEO of Radio Systems Corporation; Amy Miles, CEO of Regal Entertainment Group; and Dale Dickey, television and film actress.
*In 2022 the Smoky Mountain chapter organized and participated in 9 programs for children aged 11 plus with the mission of educating and inspiring action for a more just and peaceful world. Our chapter sent delegations totaling 23 local participants to represent the United States in France, Mexico, Canada, Norway, and several programs domestically.

*In 2019, 15 US chapters hosted international programs and 158 delegations were formed to represent the United States abroad
*In a typical year (2019), CISV USA had 750 participants participating in its programs
