About

CISV is an all-volunteer run organization at the local level. We depend on those families participating in our various programs to contribute in many ways, including serving on the board of directors. We hope that families stay involved for years to come and help positively impact the lives of others.

Adult Board

The board of directors is made up of President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, Vice President of Communications, Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Programs, Secretary, Treasurer, Members at Large (3), Junior Branch Representative, and chairs of standing committees. In a case where the Immediate Past President is not also the Chapter Representative, the individual serving as Chapter Representative shall also be a member of the Board of Directors. An individual with significant CISV experience, approved by the Board of Directors, shall serve as the Chapter Representative to CISV USA.

All board members shall:

  1. Conduct business of the chapter between General meetings and make recommendations concerning major activities of the Chapter.
  2. Receive, review, and approve committee reports.
  3. Approve the official annual budget of the Chapter and all such expenditures of committees, officers, or other expenditures not included in the approved budget.
  4. Elect persons nominated by the President to fill vacancies that may occur on the Board of Directors.

General Board Volunteer responsibilities:

  • Board members (including Committee Chairs) participate in a monthly board meeting, typically held on the third Thursday of the month for about an hour
  • Committee chairs work with their committees and provide a report to the board prior to the meeting
  • Expect an average of approximately 5-10 hours per month commitment for most positions

Junior Branch

In addition to the adult board, a Junior Branch made up of the young members of the chapter (aged 10-25) and helps guide decisions that affect them. The Junior Branch Representative (or JB Advisor), is the link between the Board of Directors and the Junior Branch.
