Each year, our chapter partners with OREPA to observe International Peace Day by folding origami cranes known as "Peace Cranes," in honor of Sadako Sasaki, who died after the bombing of Hiroshima during World War II. September 21 is International Peace Day and the Smoky Mountain Chapter will be celebrating with the Oak Ridge Environmental Peace Alliance at Union Avenue Books in Downtown Knoxville by folding 1,000 origami cranes.
